Three Couples Vacation Destinations You Will Remember Forever

By | May 6, 2011

I have a challenge for you – and the catch is that you have to complete it in fifteen minutes. No cheating and no excuses. Ready for it? Here goes: book a couples vacation!

Okay, you do not really have to follow that challenge. The point is that it is not quite so easy to book a couples vacation when you are starting from scratch. And you certainly cannot handle it in fifteen minutes – after all, don’t you also have to consult with the better half of your couple before you set any decisions in stone?

And don’t you have to pick a place to start booking, after all?

If the disadvantage of your fifteen-minute vacation booking challenge is that you do things too rashly, the disadvantage of taking things too carefully is that you never make any decisions about where to go. That’s why we’re about to take a look at three couples vacation destinations you can choose from – and hopefully inspire you to finally get those vacation plans in gear.

1. Nova Scotia.

Canada? Really? No offense to America’s neighbor to the north, but it’s not always the ideal “hot spot” many people think about when they think about vacations. Most people want to get closer to the sun, not further away.

But those people miss out. Taking a trip to a lodge in Canada can be the ideal way for a couple to spend time together – after all, it’s hard to beat roaring fires, north Atlantic seafood, and good excuses to stay indoors! For the couple that really wants to spend time together, a beach is a great idea, but taking a leap in the other direction never hurt anyone, either. And Nova Scotia, with lodges like the renowned Fox Harb’r, can be a great place to start looking.

2. St. Lucia.

Why St. Lucia, specifically, and not the Caribbean as a whole? Well, there are plenty of good spots for romantic getaways all across the Caribbean – Aruba, Jamaica, the Bahamas, St. Bart’s – but St. Lucia is one of the rare islands that actually prides itself on being a romantic getaway as opposed to another simple tourist destination. Of course, you’ll get all of the great weather and amazing views as you would anywhere in the Caribbean, but with that extra flair for couples that you’ve been looking for.

3. The Poconos.

Located in northeastern Pennsylvania, the Poconos Mountains are among the best state-side vacation spots for people looking for the classic rustic getaway. The Poconos might sound like a southern Pacific tropical island, but the experience is quite different – and can mean a lot of fun for you and yours.
